Day 1...

Well, when I decided to do this diet, I thought it would be a good idea to do a 3 day cleanse/fast to kick it off. I failed on that first thing this morning when I woke up at 6am with a foggy head and cooked myself 3 eggs with 2 slices of chopped up bacon mixed together. Shortly after that my beautiful girlfriend pointed out that I was supposed to be cleansing/fasting... So I started that cleanse/fast immediately after. Today, my diet has consisted of 3 eggs with 2 slices of bacon at 6:30am, a lot of water through out the day, and one Suja Master Cleanse juice at around 1:30pm. My plan is to have one Master Cleanse today (check), tomorrow, and the day after, with nothing else but water. It is now 4:05pm and I feel like a crack head that has ran out of dope and can't afford his next fix... This SUCKS! It's okay though, I am going to power through this and be much happier in the end because I did. I got this. I know I can... I know I can... I know I can...

Later that day.......

When I got home I just couldn't take it any longer... I had read earlier in the day that eating small amounts of fruits and veggies was totally okay during a cleanse, so that's just what I did. I ate half of an apple and chugged lots of water. I didn't end up making it to the gym to get my exercise, but I'll make up for it later.

The reason and purpose behind this blog...

This blog will be an online journal used to track my eating and fitness habits, as well as the progress I've made on working towards my goal. I feel like this blog will be a great way to keep track of my progress and a great way to stay motivated to continue making progress. I feel that keeping a daily log of what I eat, what kind of physical activities I do, and how I look and feel, will be a great way to stay motivated and push myself ever harder to become as physically fit as I want to be.

Right now, I weigh an average of 215lbs and have for as long as I can remember, but I want to weigh in at a SOLID 185lbs. I am not happy with my body and I'm tired of constantly feeling self conscious, out of shape, and unhappy with myself. I'm tired of only having 3 pairs of my 20 pairs of jeans fitting nicely, tired of my shirts fitting tightly, and tired of feeling like everything is going to rip at the seams, so it's time to do something about it.

I will be following a Paleo influenced diet as closely as possible along with some sort of daily exercise consisting of mostly lifting weights at the gym and riding my bicycle. I am going to start off with a "Power 30", which will be a 30 solid day fitness fest with hardcore dieting and exercising. I got the idea from a facebook friend of mine that is doing a "Power 90", but I figured I'd be better off to start a little more modest, then continuing from there so I'm not so easily tempted to throw in the towel. Tomorrow marks DAY 1, let's get this party started.
